Air Raid Siren Sounds

Lately in the news thanks to north korea’s fat boy kim’s (aka rocket boy) unrelenting pursuit to get his own nukes to play with, we are hearing of the long unused air raid siren come back. Latest news is the state of Hawaii has re-introduced the siren warning system since they think they are a possible target of little fat boy kimmie.

Here is a playlist of seven videos created of seven different air raid sirens from around the world. How many of you are old enough to remember listening to these obnoxious sirens? Maybe more likely just hearing them on a movie or tv show.

Want to be a dirty rotten prankster to a friend or ‘frenemy’?  You could try blasting one of these videos to get them up early or drive by their house with it blaring from your car’s speakers.

It’s funny, I haven’t posted very much recently, and as i type i watch the word counter not even approach 300 words. I recall that 300 words was the minimum for a blog post to gain some relevance in a search or seo optimization.

I haven’t posted in a while because, #1 – there’s only so much of me to go around. #2- I haven’t been able to clone myself. Even if I could, I’m always concerned about the strong possibility that one or more of my clones would decide to pull a Multiplicity and ‘make a copy of a copy’. And if that classic movie told us anything, that making a copy of a copy isn’t really a good idea. Sure, you might get a marginally functioning adorable retard out of it, but in reality, that’s just a major pain in the butt and NOT funny to the ones relegated to being its caretaker. I would nominate the clones responsible for that. Finally, #3 – i think too much time has passed since I learned about how good and cheap phillipino virtual assistants were supposed to be… By now I am sure the market is saturated, they probably aren’t so cheap, and if they are, it’s because those are the ones that nobody wanted before – the leftover dregs.

Oh, and thanks to LavaPirate for use of the ‘oh shit’ art piece for the visual in the videos.

Ronald Reagan’s Words Truer Than Ever Almost 50 Years Later

What Can We Learn From A 50 Year Old Speech

About The State Of the United States Of America?

Ronald Reagan Official Presidential Portrait

Will history teach us nothing? Maybe we are just unwilling to learn. Eternal vigilance is the requirement for liberty. So stop sleeping on your watch!

When I see what is happening politically in my country today and compare it to this speech, I can’t help but notice a lot of the same things seem to be the ‘issues’ of the day. Government overspending, a growing trend leaning towards bigger socialistic government at the expense of personal freedoms. All in the excuse of big G “Daddy” knows best. It’s like if we’re not constantly on top of things, it all starts going to hell in a hand basket very quickly.

This is Reagan’s speech when he was campaigning for Barry Goldwater back in October 1964. Needless to say, he out-shined Goldwater and this was a sign of Ronald’s next step in his professional career.

Fact– Reagan won every state (electoral) in his 1984 re-election except walter mondale’s home state of minnesota and D.C.

Happy Brithday Ronnie. We miss ya.

BLOG PEE

July 1st, 2011

Well well well well well . . . . It seems like a mental enema is in store here.

fall down seven, get up eight

Japanese Proverb – seems appropriate.

I’ve been a naughty, neglectful boy with my passion blog.

Started getting back in the swing of things back in May only to let the entire month of June slip on by.  “Buh-bye” people must’ve thought. For shame 😛

So a good old fashioned BLOG PEE seemed appropriate here to start up again. I’m surprised my bladder didn’t burst. (actually i was relieving myself in the sink)

As it’s america’s birthday this weekend…. again… #235 – boy is she gettin’ old eh?

Bet you wished you look this good at that age….. hell, bet you wish you could reach that age – HA!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY AMERICA!

What better time to brush up on your RIGHTS (while you still have them!)

BILL OF RIGHTS [|||]  U.S. CONSTITUTION

It’s summertime!

So the 2nd half of 2011 has begun.  Time to start a new ritual?Trend? whatever you call it…. How about:

MID YEAR Resolutions and Reflections.

Take a moment this weekend to reflect upon the first half of the year and see what you’ve accomplished and whether you are on track with your goals. Maybe you have new goals – i know i do. Maybe you fulfilled some, maybe others are getting cold and moldy on the back burner – salvage them if you want, or throw them out and make room for NEW.

I have been cleaning out my physical environment to create more clarity and focus for myself. It feels good to purge yourself of old things that you no longer want or need.  Nostalgia and the What-If creatures try to sneak into your psyche to get you to reconsider letting go of your STUFF.  But then Rationalization and Practicality double-team them and counter with the ideas of “you can’t take it with you”,” it’s holding you back” and  “it’s weighing you down.”

Where’s The BEEF?

Ok, I realize this is normally slotted for an Eff-En-Eff, so here’s 2 mini-videos of UFOs over LONDON that were aired recently. Quite intriguing. Now I’ll keep my opinions to myself as I’m not an expert on analyzing real vs. fake. The fact that these two I found are taken in totally different parts of the city makes it seem a bit more convincing.

However, an observation is in store here. Why is it that UFOs always seem to move like UFOs? The triangle formation, the radical changes in direction and speed. The odd way the larger disc rotates and spins slowly. And so on.

Finally – cause I got work 2 do, I’ll blog more about this later, but time is of the essence.

There are blenders and then there is IMO, THE World’s Best Blender,  ever. The one and only BLENDTEC. Even better, it can be purchased with FREE SHIPPING all during the month of JULY, 2011.

So my question to you is, Will It Blend, Punk?

– – – You Might Be A  Zombie if  …you don’t realize we’ve been living in a  Zombie Apocalypse for several years now.

Yes, I am probably starting a new meme here,  but it dawned on me that the way most people go through their lives, they sure have an awful lot of zombie tendencies and traits… remember, kill the brain and run away – the lactic acid build up in reanimated dead tissue causes them to stop ‘dead’ in their tracks fairly quickly.

F-N-F | Friday Night Film | The Disclosure Project

F-N-F : Friday Night Film, Febuary 19, 2010

Ok, this one is a little old and I only heard it on the original website as the video wasn’t working.

Very compelling. How many people do YOU know that even heard about this back in 01?

The Disclosure Project, May 9th, 2001

Google Video

On Wednesday, May 9th 2001, over twenty military, intelligence, government, corporate and scientific witnesses came forward at the National Press Club in Washington, DC to establish the reality of UFOs or extraterrestrial vehicles, extraterrestrial life forms, and resulting advanced energy and propulsion technologies.

The weight of this first-hand testimony, along with supporting government documentation and other evidence, will establish without any doubt the reality of these phenomena, according to Dr. Steven M. Greer, director of the Disclosure Project which hosted the event.

How To Fix The US Government | Yes, It DOES Need Fixin

Buddy of mine sent this to me – I thought it simple and straight forward and eliminates all the bullshit that has transpired in the US government over the last 100 years.  I can’t see anyone who’s NOT a current or former congressman having an issue with this proposal.

Congressional Reform Act of 2010

1. Term Limits: 12 years only, one of the possible options below.

A. Two Six year Senate terms
B. Six Two year House terms
C. One Six year Senate term and three Two Year House terms

Serving in Congress is an honor, not a career.  The Founding Fathers envisioned citizen legislators, serve your term(s), then go home and back to work.

2.  No Tenure / No Pension:

A congressman collects a salary while in office and receives no pay when they are out of office.

Serving in Congress is an honor, not a career.  The Founding Fathers envisioned citizen legislators, serve your term(s), then go home and back to work.

3.  Congress (past, present & future) participates in Social Security:

All funds in the Congressional retirement fund moves to the Social Security system immediately.  All future funds flow into the Social Security system, Congress participates with the American people.

Serving in Congress is an honor, not a career.  The Founding Fathers envisioned citizen legislators, server your term(s), then go home and back to work.

4. Congress can purchase their own retirement plan just as all Americans.

Serving in Congress is an honor, not a career.  The Founding Fathers envisioned citizen legislators, serve your term(s), then go home and back to work.

5. Congress will no longer vote themselves a pay raise.  Congressional pay will rise by the lower of CPI or 3%.

Serving in Congress is an honor, not a career.  The Founding Fathers envisioned  citizen legislators, serve your term(s), then go home and back to work.

6. Congress looses their current health care system and participates in the same health care system as the American people.

Serving in Congress is an honor, not a career.  The Founding Fathers envisioned citizen legislators, serve your term(s), then go home and back to work.

7. Congress must equally abide in all laws they impose on the American people.

Serving in Congress is an honor, not a career.  The Founding Fathers envisioned citizen legislators, serve your term(s), then go home and back to work.
8. All contracts with past and present congressmen are void effective 1/1/11.

The American people did not make this contract with congressmen, congressmen made all these contracts for themselves.

Serving in Congress is an honor, not a career.  The Founding Fathers envisioned  citizen legislators, serve your term(s), then go home and back to work.

Take the three minutes to read this. Maybe he is wrong. What if he is right?

David Kaiser is a respected historian whose published works have covered a broad range of topics, from European Warfare to American League Baseball. Born in 1947, the son of a diplomat, Kaiser spent his childhood in three capital cities: Washington D.C. , Albany , New York , and Dakar , Senegal .. He attended Harvard University , graduating there in 1969 with a B.A. In history. He then spent several years more at Harvard, gaining a PhD in history, which he obtained in 1976. He served in the Army Reserve from 1970 to 1976.

He is a professor in the Strategy and Policy Department of the United States Naval War College. He has previously taught at Carnegie Mellon, Williams College and Harvard University . Kaiser’s latest book, The Road to Dallas, about the Kennedy assassination, was just published by Harvard University Press.

History Unfolding by Dr. David Kaiser

I am a student of history. Professionally, I have written 15 books on history that have been published in six languages, and I have studied history all my life. I have come to think there is something monumentally large afoot, and I do not believe it is simply a banking crisis, or a mortgage crisis, or a credit crisis. Yes these exist, but they are merely single facets on a very large gemstone that is only now coming into a sharper focus.

Something of historic proportions is happening. I can sense it because I know how it feels, smells, what it looks like, and how people react to it. Yes, a perfect storm may be brewing, but there is something happening within our country that has been evolving for about ten to fifteen years. The pace has dramatically quickened in the past two.

We demand and then codify into law the requirement that our banks make massive loans to people we know they can never pay back? Why?

We learned just days ago that the Federal Reserve, which has little or no real oversight by anyone, has “loaned” two trillion dollars (that is $2,000,000,000,000) over the past few months, but will not tell us to whom or why or disclose the terms. That is our money. Yours and mine. And that is three times the $700 billion we all argued about so strenuously just this past September. Who has this money? Why do they have it? Why are the terms unavailable to us? Who asked for it? Who authorized it? I thought this was a government of “we the people,” who loaned our powers to our elected leaders. Apparently not.

We have spent two or more decades intentionally de-industrializing our economy.. Why?

We have intentionally dumbed down our schools, ignored our history, and no longer teach our founding documents, why we are exceptional, and why we are worth preserving. Students by and large cannot write, think critically, read, or articulate. Parents are not revolting, teachers are not picketing, school boards continue to back mediocrity. Why?

We have now established the precedent of protesting every close election (violently in California over a proposition that is so controversial that it simply wants marriage to remain defined as between one man and one woman. Did you ever think such a thing possible just a decade ago?) We have corrupted our sacred political process by allowing unelected judges to write laws that radically change our way of life, and then mainstream Marxist groups like ACORN and others to turn our voting system into a banana republic. To what purpose?

Now our mortgage industry is collapsing, housing prices are in free fall, major industries are failing, our banking system is on the verge of collapse, social security is nearly bankrupt, as is Medicare and our entire government. Our education system is worse than a joke (I teach college and I know precisely what I am talking about) – the list is staggering in its length, breadth, and depth.. It is potentially 1929 x ten…And we are at war with an enemy we cannot even name for fear of offending people of the same religion, who, in turn, cannot wait to slit the throats of your children if they have the opportunity to do so.

And finally, we have elected a man that no one really knows anything about, who has never run so much as a Dairy Queen, let alone a town as big as Wasilla , Alaska .. All of his associations and alliances are with real radicals in their chosen fields of employment, and everything we learn about him, drip by drip, is unsettling if not downright scary (Surely you have heard him speak about his idea to create and fund a mandatory civilian defense force stronger than our military for use inside our borders? No? Oh, of course. The media would never play that for you over and over and then demand he answer it. Sarah Palin’s pregnant daughter and $150,000 wardrobe are more important.)

Mr. Obama’s winning platform can be boiled down to one word: Change. Why?

I have never been so afraid for my country and for my children as I am now.

This man campaigned on bringing people together, something he has never, ever done in his professional life. In my assessment, Obama will divide us along philosophical lines, push us apart, and then try to realign the pieces into a new and different power structure. Change is indeed coming. And when it comes, you will never see the same nation again.

And that is only the beginning..

As a serious student of history, I thought I would never come to experience what the ordinary, moral German must have felt in the mid-1930s In those times, the “savior” was a former smooth-talking rabble-rouser from the streets, about whom the average German knew next to nothing. What they should have known was that he was associated with groups that shouted, shoved, and pushed around people with whom they disagreed; he edged his way onto the political stage through great oratory. Conservative “losers” read it right now.

And there were the promises. Economic times were tough, people were losing jobs, and he was a great speaker. And he smiled and frowned and waved a lot. And people, even newspapers, were afraid to speak out for fear that his “brown shirts” would bully and beat them into submission. Which they did – regularly. And then, he was duly elected to office, while a full-throttled economic crisis bloomed at hand – the Great Depression. Slowly, but surely he seized the controls of government power, person by person, department by department, bureaucracy by bureaucracy. The children of German citizens were at first, encouraged to join a Youth Movement in his name where they were taught exactly what to think. Later, they were required to do so. No Jews of course,

How did he get people on his side? He did it by promising jobs to the jobless, money to the money-less, and rewards for the military-industrial complex. He did it by indoctrinating the children, advocating gun control, health care for all, better wages, better jobs, and promising to re-instill pride once again in the country, across Europe , and across the world. He did it with a compliant media – did you know that? And he did this all in the name of justice and …. . … change. And the people surely got what they voted for.

If you think I am exaggerating, look it up. It’s all there in the history books.

So read your history books. Many people of conscience objected in 1933 and were shouted down, called names, laughed at, and ridiculed. When Winston Churchill pointed out the obvious in the late 1930s while seated in the House of Lords in England (he was not yet Prime Minister), he was booed into his seat and called a crazy troublemaker. He was right, though. And the world came to regret that he was not listened to.

Do not forget that Germany was the most educated, the most cultured country in Europe . It was full of music, art, museums, hospitals, laboratories, and universities. And yet, in less than six years (a shorter time span than just two terms of the U. S. presidency) it was rounding up its own citizens, killing others, abrogating its laws, turning children against parents, and neighbors against neighbors.. All with the best of intentions, of course. The road to Hell is paved with them.

As a practical thinker, one not overly prone to emotional decisions, I have a choice: I can either believe what the objective pieces of evidence tell me (even if they make me cringe with disgust); I can believe what history is shouting to me from across the chasm of seven decades; or I can hope I am wrong by closing my eyes, having another latte, and ignoring what is transpiring around me..

I choose to believe the evidence. No doubt some people will scoff at me, others laugh, or think I am foolish, naive, or both. To some degree, perhaps I am. But I have never been afraid to look people in the eye and tell them exactly what I believe-and why I believe it.

I pray I am wrong. I do not think I am. Perhaps the only hope is our vote in the next elections.

The Ant And The Grasshopper – Modern Take On An Old Parable. . .

My friend sent me this today and I thought it’d be a good one to post here. . .

THE ANT AND THE GRASSHOPPER

This one is a little different…
Two Different Versions! ……………..
Two Different Morals!

OLD VERSION: The ant works hard in the withering heat all summer long,  building his house and laying up supplies for the winter.

The grasshopper thinks the ant is a fool and laughs and dances and plays the summer away.

Come winter, the ant is warm and well fed.

The grasshopper has no food or shelter, so he dies out in the cold.

MORAL OF THE STORY: Be responsible for yourself!

MODERN VERSION:

The ant works hard in the withering heat all summer long, building his house and laying up supplies for the winter.

The grasshopper thinks the ant is a fool and laughs and dances and plays the summer away.

Come winter, the shivering grasshopper calls a press conference and demands to know why the ant should be allowed to be warm and well fed while others are cold and starving.

CBS, NBC , PBS, CNN, and ABC show up to provide pictures of the shivering grasshopper next to a
video of the
ant in his comfortable home with a table filled with food. America is stunned by the sharp contrast.

How can this be, that in a country of such wealth, this poorgrasshopper is allowed to suffer so?

Kermit the Frog appears on Oprah with the grasshopper and everybody cries when they sing,
‘It’s Not Easy Being Green..’

Acorn stages a demonstration in front of the ant’s house
where the news stations film the group singing, ‘We shall overcome.’
Rev.. Jeremiah Wright then has the group kneel down to pray to God for the grasshopper’s sake.

Nancy Pelosi & Harry Reid exclaim in an interview with Larry Kingthat the ant has gotten rich off the back
of the grasshopper, and both call for an immediate tax hike on the antto make him pay his fair share.

Finally, the EEOC drafts the Economic Equity & Anti-Grasshopper Act retroactive to the beginning of the summer.

The ant is fined for failing to hire a proportionate number of green bugs and, having nothing left to pay his retroactive taxes, his home is confiscated by the Government Green Czar.

The story ends as we see the grasshopper finishing up the last bits of the ants food while the government house
he is in, which just happens to be the ant’s old house, crumbles around him because he doesn’t maintain it.

The ant has disappeared in the snow.

The grasshopper is found dead in a drug related incident
and the house, now abandoned, is taken over by a gang of spiders
who terrorize the once peaceful neighborhood.

MORAL OF THE STORY: Be careful how you vote in 2010.

Nikola Tesla | Timeless Wisdom and Insight

Words from the man who gave the world AC – Alternating Current

Nikola Tesla – underrated is an understatement regarding this man’s brilliance of mind and contributions to the world.

I just finished reading  My Inventions: The Autobiography of Nikola Tesla, and have a newfound respect for the incredible genius of this man.  He not only had an amazing ability to come up with transformative new technology and discovery but also the insight into the possible repercussions and misuse of some of these inventions.

And that’s what I want to share today – a passage in his book that seems as if it could have been written today, but in fact, is his words from over 90 years ago.

War can not be avoided until the physical cause for its recurrence is removed and this, in the last analysis, is the vast extent of the planet on which we live. Only thru annihilation of distance in every respect, as the conveyance of intelligence, transport of passengers and supplies and transmission of energy will conditions be brought about some day, insuring permanency of friendly relations.

What we now want most is closer contact and better understanding between individuals and communities all over the earth, and the elimination of that fanatic devotion to exalted ideals of national egoism and pride which is always prone to plunge the world into primeval barbarism and stirfe.

No league or parliamentary act of any kind will every prevent such a calamity. These are only new devices for putting the weak at the mercy of the strong.  I have exprest myself in this regard fourteen years ago, when a combination of a few leading governments – a sort of Holy Alliance – was advocated by the late Andrew Carnegie, who may be fairly considered as the father of this idea, having given to it more publicity and impetus than anybody else prior to the efforts of the President.

While it can not be denied that such a pact might be of material advantage to some less fortunate peoples, it can not attain the chief object sought. Peace can only come as a natural consequence of universal enlightenment and merging of races, and we are still far from this blissful realization.

As I view the world of today, in the light of the gigantic struggle we have witnest, I am filled with conviction that the interests of humanity would be best served if the United States remained true to its traditions and kept out of “entangling alliances.”

Situated as it is, geographically, remote from the theatres of impending conflicts, without incentive to territorial aggrandizement, with inexhaustible resources and immense population thoroly imbued with the spirits of liberty and right, this country is placed in a unique and privileged position. It is thus able to exert, independently, its colossal strength and moral force to the benefit of all, more judiciously and effectively, than as a member of a league.” p. 101

FNF – Friday Night Film : The Corporation (2003)

from video.google.com

Why are sociopaths and psychopaths extremely over represented in the highest positions of corporations?

This film gives a good explanation of why – corporations themselves if diagnosed as people are predominantly psychopaths themselves.

You’d think that things like disasters, or the purity of childhood, or even milk, let alone water or air, would be sacred. But no. Corporations have no built-in limits on what, who, or how much they can exploit for profit. In the fifteenth century, the enclosure movement began to put fences around public grazing lands so that they might be privately owned and exploited. Today, every molecule on the planet is up for grabs. In a bid to own it all, corporations are patenting animals, plants, even your DNA. Around things too precious, vulnerable, sacred or important to the public interest, governments have, in the past, drawn protective boundaries against corporate exploitation. Today, governments are inviting corporations into domains from which they were previously barred.

show the filmakers some love . . . buy a copy here or at least support them

http://www.thecorporation.com/

The sickness that is the mindset of the corporation – let us patent DNA of plants and humans so that we will be financially compensated for researching and discovering and producing new products that might better mankind – or so that’s their sales pitch – whether it REALLY betters mankind or just lines their own pockets with power, control, dominion and money, is the question we must answer.

When you are a consumer you are in that action not unlike a parasite.. you are taking, consuming … when you create, you are adding to the world… you are giving.
