Will history teach us nothing? Maybe we are just unwilling to learn. Eternal vigilance is the requirement for liberty. So stop sleeping on your watch!
When I see what is happening politically in my country today and compare it to this speech, I can’t help but notice a lot of the same things seem to be the ‘issues’ of the day. Government overspending, a growing trend leaning towards bigger socialistic government at the expense of personal freedoms. All in the excuse of big G “Daddy” knows best. It’s like if we’re not constantly on top of things, it all starts going to hell in a hand basket very quickly.
This is Reagan’s speech when he was campaigning for Barry Goldwater back in October 1964. Needless to say, he out-shined Goldwater and this was a sign of Ronald’s next step in his professional career.
Fact– Reagan won every state (electoral) in his 1984 re-election except walter mondale’s home state of minnesota and D.C.
Happy Brithday Ronnie. We miss ya.
February 6, 1911 – June 5, 2004) was the 40th President of the United States (1981–1989), 33rd Governor of California (1967–75)
There’s a new series I found on Hulu called A Day In The Life. Their first episode showcases a day in the life of billionaire Richard Branson.
So far, I’ve only watched Richard Branson, Girl Talk, Will.i.am and Timothy Ferriss. Besides offering a glimpse into each of their lives, there are some good nuggets of wisdom i take away from. Even if it’s not something they said, it could be how they go about doing things, how they interact with others, their mannerisms, etc. The shows are disappointingly short – less than 25 minutes long.
In series one, episode 3, they follow around Will.i.am of Black Eyed Peas fame.
Will.i.am seems quite grounded and humble in his success which he has worked long and hard at. The show catches up with him while the Peas are performing in Paris. In the car, he is amazed at how once upon a time it was all just in his head and now 10s of 1000s of people are waiting to hear them play.
He also expressed qualities that helped him get to where he is today:
Passion for his craft
Thick skin – have had to endure a whole bunch, heart broken, screwed in business deals, etc. But through all that learning to turn those negatives into positives.
Finally, he says why he was able to accomplish these things is due to his close friends who trust and support each other. Having good people around you is one of the cardinal rules to reach your goals.
Laminine was recently showcased on American Health Journal in select markets around the USA This month of July 2012.
Also features Kevin Sorbo of Hercules and Andromeda TV show fame and how Laminine has helped him. I did not know before this that Kevin Sorbo had had a stroke back in the 1990s when he was still shooting Hercules in New Zealand.
Ok, so I am implying this is directed towards Baby Boomers, but honestly, I can’t think of anyone who WON’T benefit from this – including your kitty or doggie.
I believe this to be the next BIG thing that people will be taking on a daily basis.
Laminine “The Baby Boomer Supplement.” Laminine empowers the body to heal itself. Increases serotonin, the happy feel good hormone and decreases cortisol, the stress hormone by 50%. Improves energy, stamina and promotes restful sleep.
Nourishes stem cells too.

From a business opportunity perspective, this is a 4 fold win-win-win-win. 1. Timing. 2. Price of entry for a business. 3. Product that gives amazing results in as little as a few days. 4. Compensation plan.
For those who know when you find a no-brainer like this, you know that you can accomplish in months what would normally take years.
I posted a blog recently about URL alternatives to Bit.ly that you can refer to here.
Craigslist is constantly changing the rules and making it harder and harder to use hyperlinked URL shorteners. Backpage is a bit more lenient and as a matter of fact, as of Sept 15, 2011, I found the latest URL shortener that’s sticking. It’s called Blu.cc and it’s currently in Beta. Which means of course, it may go bust at any time in the next 6 months or so.
Case in point, in my last update earlier this year, kl.am was working for Craigslist and since has gone bust sometime in January. Their page takes homage to Douglas Adams with the ‘so long and thanks for all the fish’ line.
Blu.cc markets themselves with the tagline “Small links for tweeting” as they try to break into the popular and competitive twitter realm.
PS: is.gd is still valid but I haven’t been able to use them on Craigslist for a while.
I read about this in a Natural Awakenings magazine [Sept 2010]
Gives new meaning to the term “Bird Brained.”
It has been determined that birds not only sing to communicate daily needs, but many engage in sound play, most often when they’re alone, but sometimes also when people are around.
Some bird species continually improvise and embellish their singing with new elements, phrasing and sequences. For example, nightingales and canaries are avian virtuosos, reinventing their song repertoire each year. The brown thrasher is said to have around 2000 song types – a record. Nightingales organize their compositions according to rules of construction similar to the way humans use syntax [the arrangement of words and phrases]. Nightingales also create distinctive phrases that identify them as individuals.
Recordings or Australian magpies reveal how the bird’s voice covers four octaves, varies its phrasing between staccato and legato, and embellishes sequences with vibrato, trills or deep overtones. More, it will complete a song with a signature phrase, much like an artist initials a finished painting.
I never liked He-Man Masters of the Universe cartoons as a kid so I never watched them. Ridiculed fans of it maybe. This may be an oldie in internet years, but it’s still funny. Good comedy will stand up in the long run. Funny is funny. Daniel – the creator of these parodies did this for fun as I remember… As a result, he ended up getting a real [paying] gig out of the exposure.
